Tips for Finding Your Child Reliable Therapy
There is a long list of things to look for when choosing a counselor for a child. Here are the three we feel are indispensable.

Know their education
The mental health training programs a counselor or program is based on is a major clue as to whether or not you’ve found a good fit. If their ethics or school of thought is not aligned with your values as a parent, they may not be the best choice.

Know that you have options
Many types of counseling are available and work well for children. These include play therapy, talk therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and more. Choosing the right one for you and your child can take some trial and error.

Get a second opinion
Take your child to more than one counselor even if your first counselor seems like a good fit. This will help ensure your child has a choice.
